第18章。最終章はブルーム氏の妻のモリ―の心中。ピリオドもコンマもない単語の連なり、8つでできている。ここはその8つ目のおわりのほう。モリーはブルーム氏のことを思っている。
“I suppose” は18章に頻出する。モリーの口癖だろう。
ブログの12回でふれたように、ジョイスは、①because, ②bottom,③ woman, ④yes は女性の4つの極をあらわすと言ってこの章で多用する。ここでも yes と bottom が使われている。
「プラムとリンゴ」というのは、この章の少し前にでてきた。
